Political party positions on the issue of mental health and mental illness

CAMIMH wanted to find out exactly where each party stood on the issue of mental health and mental illness before Canadians go to the polls on Monday May, 2nd. At the initiative and with the assistance of Meagan Hatch at CPA psychiatry, we sent a short questionnaire to the five major federal political parties (LPC, CPC, NDP, Green and Bloc), asking them about their party's position on such issues as support for parity of resources for treatment of mental and physical problems, increased funding for mental health research, and improved access to mental health services.
