OTTAWA (February 3, 2016) The Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) is pleased to announce that the group’s 2015 advocacy campaign has been recognized among the best in the world by New York based PR News Magazine.
CAMIMH’s 2015 ACT!ON Mental Health campaign has been announced as a finalist for the PR News Non-profit PR Awards in the Best Advocacy Campaign category. CAMIMH is pleased to be recognized alongside prestigious nominees such as the United Nations Foundation and the American Heart Association.
The award will be presented March 15, 2016 in Washington D.C. at an event at the National Press Club.
While this award recognition is appreciated, CAMIMH and its member organizations are most proud of the fact the campaign ‘ACT!ON Mental Health’ raised significant public and political awareness surrounding Mental Illness and Mental Health and achieved its advocacy goals of greater federal support for Mental Health initiatives.
CAMIMH would also like to thank its sponsors, Bell Let’s Talk, Lundbeck Canada, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Innovative Medicines Canada, and Impact Public Affairs for their support. Our partners make it all possible.
Established in 1998, the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) is an alliance of mental health organizations comprised of health care providers and organizations representing persons with mental illness and their families and caregivers. CAMIMH’s mandate is to ensure that mental health is placed on the national agenda so that persons with a lived experience of mental illness and their families receive appropriate access to care and support.
