Positions Open For an RN/RPN for Specialized Mental Health Services at Windsor Regional Hospital

Job Description: 

Specialized Mental Health Services at Windsor Regional Hospital includes 59 specialized mental health beds and 3 Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams. Specialized mental health care is focused on active, ongoing treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery that are not a substitute for secondary care. It consists of an array of services that are situated in both hospital and community settings that provide equitable access to safe, respectful and effective services that are designed to enhance individual capacity, strength, recovery, and hope, to maximize the quality of life. Specialized inpatient services will be linked to Windsor Regional Hospital's specialized outpatient services and clinics. The specialized populations that we serve are: Dual Diagnosis Geriatric Mental Health Mood and Anxiety Disorders Psychosis

REGISTERED NURSE, SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH (INPATIENT)

The Registered Nurse. is responsible for providing safe, effective and ethical nursing care. The Registered Nurse for the Specialized Mental Health Program cares for individuals with serious mental illness. This is a position that will improve care of the mental health patients in the tertiary care setting and support linkages with community partners which would support the care for the mentally impaired clients.

Qualifications Required:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Current BCLS required Minimum of 3 years experience in Psychiatry Nursing preferred
  • Mental Health Nursing Certification preferred
  • Non-violent de-escalation and Code White training required

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE, SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH (INPATIENT)

The Registered Practical Nurse for the Specialized Mental Health Program cares for individuals with serious mental illness. This is a position that will improve care of the mental health patients in the tertiary care setting and support linkages with community partners which would support the care for patients with a serious mental illness.

Qualifications Required:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Two (2) years experience in related clinical area preferred
  • Certification in Mental Health Nursing preferred
  • Current CPR certificate required
  • Non-violent de-escalation and Code White training required
